AC Milan is preparing for a significant squad overhaul this summer. Sporting director Igli Tare is already actively identifying targets across multiple positions, aiming to provide coach Massimiliano Allegri with the necessary tools for a sustained title challenge next season.
Reports from Tuttosport, relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb, indicate that an AC Milan scout attended Bologna’s match against Lazio at the Dall’Ara on Sunday. The scout was reportedly observing two key players: defender Mario Gila, who continues to be of significant interest, and striker Santiago Castro, whose performance in attack was particularly noted.
The young Argentine forward has emerged as one of Serie A’s most promising talents this season, and Bologna recognizes his high market value. The Emilian club has set a minimum asking price of €40 million for Castro, a valuation reflecting his youth and substantial future potential.

West Ham, Nottingham Forest, and Milan Vie for Castro
Despite the hefty price tag, Premier League clubs remain keen. Both West Ham and Nottingham Forest have expressed interest in Castro recently. The financial might of English teams could pose a significant challenge for Milan in this transfer pursuit.
Castro is just one of several attacking players on Milan’s radar for the summer. The club is also considering options such as Moise Kean, Mateo Retegui, and Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson, as they diligently search for a high-caliber striker to spearhead Allegri’s offense next season.
While the immediate focus at San Siro is on the current season, with eight league matches left and the Scudetto title still attainable, preparations for a potentially active summer transfer window are already being made discreetly.
