AC Milan is reportedly altering its transfer strategy regarding star forward Rafael Leao, now prepared to entertain offers of at least €50 million this summer. This marks a significant shift from their previous stance, which saw the Portuguese international’s contract include a €175 million release clause, reflecting their former asking price.
Sources indicate that Leao’s inconsistent performances and recent physical issues throughout the current season have prompted the Rossoneri to reassess his market value. The 26-year-old has registered 10 goals in 25 appearances across all competitions so far.
Leao has also drawn attention for less positive reasons recently, notably reacting visibly frustrated when substituted during an away match against Lazio. He subsequently missed the following game against Torino due to injury and later made a substitute appearance against Napoli.
Despite these recent developments, Leao’s overall contribution to Milan has been substantial. His contract with the club runs until June 2028. Across 285 appearances for the Rossoneri, he has amassed an impressive record of 80 goals and 64 assists, playing a key role in their Serie A title victory in the 2021-22 season.
