Following an impressive entry into ONE Championship, Amy Pirnie from Scotland is setting her sights on the atomweight world title.
Pirnie made a memorable first impression in ONE by knocking out Yu Yau Pui in just 49 seconds in August.
This quick victory was not by chance. Pirnie explained to Sky Sports that her coaches carefully analyze her opponents and develop a strategy. The specific shot that finished Yu was something they had practiced, and it landed perfectly.

Pirnie stated that the plan was executed perfectly that night and couldn`t have gone better.
They were aiming for a knockout, knowing her opponent was aggressive. The strategy was to stop her advance, which proved successful.
This performance was particularly remarkable because Pirnie was returning after nearly retiring. She had been away from the sport for almost three years due to various reasons, including recovering from a persistent injury.
Pirnie mentioned that her absence wasn`t intended to be so long, and she had considered retiring after her previous successes.
The Rise of UK Fighters
Fighters from the UK are increasingly making their mark in ONE Championship, a major global platform for martial arts.
While Liam Harrison, a renowned kickboxer, has retired from Muay Thai, Jonathan Haggerty, despite losing his Muay Thai title to Superlek, remains the ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion and will continue to compete at a high level.
A group of fighters from Glasgow are also emerging in ONE. Alongside Pirnie, Nico Carrillo and Stephen Irvine are from Glasgow and are climbing the ranks, aiming for title opportunities.
