A remarkable Carlos Alcaraz rookie tennis card from 2022 has established a new benchmark for men`s tennis memorabilia. The NetPro Premium Autograph Golden Slam Rookie Card, which features an on-card signature and is numbered 1-of-1, was sold for $237,907 through Goldin Auctions late Saturday evening, shortly before the commencement of Wimbledon.
This sale now represents the highest price ever paid for a men`s tennis card. The previous record was also set by a Carlos Alcaraz card – specifically, a 1-of-1 2024 Topps Royalty Racket Knob Autograph Relic Card. That card, which included his autograph and an inscription commemorating his Indian Wells title from the previous year, achieved $222,000 just the day before.
Despite these significant men`s records, the overall record for any tennis card remains with a 2003 NetPro Serena Williams rookie patch autograph card. That card sold for $266,400 at Goldin Auctions in 2022.
Meanwhile, Alcaraz, aged 22, is preparing to pursue his third Wimbledon title. He is scheduled to begin his tournament run on Centre Court against Italy`s Fabio Fognini in the first round.
