Como Dominates Pisa 5-0, Fabregas’s Side Extends Lead Over Juventus in Serie A

Como significantly bolstered their position in the Champions League qualification spots, moving three points clear of Juventus following a resounding 5-0 triumph over Pisa in Serie A on Sunday afternoon. Under the guidance of Cesc Fabregas, Como’s victory, fueled by goals from Assane Diao, Anastasios Douvikas, Martin Baturina, Nico Paz, and Maxi Perrone, provides a strong statement heading into the international break.

Como entered the match in formidable form, having secured four consecutive Serie A wins and maintaining a six-game unbeaten streak across all competitions. The attacking lineup featured Diao, Jesus Rodriguez, Douvikas, and Nico Paz. Pisa, on the other hand, made several personnel changes despite having registered only their second win of the season in their previous outing.

In the early stages, both teams displayed some nervy moments, dangerously ceding possession in their own halves. However, it was Pisa who paid the price for Stefano Moreo’s slip, as Assane Diao seized the opportunity. He raced towards goal, shifted the ball onto his left foot, and slotted it past goalkeeper Nicolas, opening the scoring after just seven minutes.
