Ederson Nears Atletico Madrid Move: Personal Terms Agreed, €40M Fee Expected

Sport news

Atletico Madrid has reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Atalanta midfielder Ederson, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano. A transfer fee of approximately €40 million is anticipated for the Brazilian international, who has also attracted interest from Premier League giants Manchester United and Manchester City.

Since his transfer from Salernitana to Atalanta in 2022, Ederson’s performance has consistently improved. He played a pivotal role in the club’s recent Europa League triumph and was notably missed during an injury-enforced absence this season.

With his current contract set to expire in June 2027, a summer departure seems increasingly likely for the player, who will celebrate his 27th birthday this year.

Numerous clubs have shown interest in the midfielder. Previous bids from Inter and Juventus were rejected, while both Manchester United and Manchester City remain poised to submit offers.

However, Romano indicates that Ederson views Atletico Madrid as his preferred destination and has already consented to their personal terms.

While personal terms are settled, Atletico Madrid still needs to finalize a transfer fee with Atalanta. Given the player’s contract situation, the fee is expected to fall within the €35-40 million range.
