Virtus Bologna has effectively waved the white flag on their EuroLeague play-in aspirations after suffering an 82-88 home defeat against Partizan. This loss significantly diminishes their chances of advancing to the next stage.
Partizan, under the guidance of legendary coach Željko Obradović, secured a dominant victory, skillfully exploiting Bologna’s considerable roster challenges. Virtus was notably without key players Pajola and Hackett, and also saw Vildoza forced out due to injury during the game, further compounding their difficulties.
For Partizan, the returning Carlik Jones delivered a strong performance, brilliantly complemented by an outstanding Bonga, who recorded an impressive double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Despite a valiant effort from Edwards, who contributed 19 points for Virtus, it ultimately wasn’t enough to clinch a victory against a determined Partizan side.
