Formula 1 has officially announced its calendar for the 2026 season, featuring 24 races and confirming that Australia will once again host the opening Grand Prix.
As previously confirmed, Madrid is the sole new circuit added to the schedule, set to host the Spanish Grand Prix. Barcelona will remain on the calendar for the final year of its current contract with F1.
The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola has been removed from the schedule, as anticipated, after hosting five races since its return in 2020.

Similar to the 2025 season, the timing of Ramadan means Bahrain cannot host the first round in March. This results in Melbourne`s Albert Park circuit opening the season, fulfilling the second of five obligations under its hosting contract which extends until 2037.
The Australian Grand Prix is scheduled for March 8th, a week earlier than the current year. The Chinese Grand Prix will follow seven days later. Japan will then be a standalone event before a double-header weekend featuring Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in mid-April.
The Canadian Grand Prix moves to May for the first time, shifted forward several weeks from its usual slot to follow the Miami Grand Prix. This change is part of an effort to make the calendar more geographically logical and sustainable.
To facilitate this shift, the Monaco Grand Prix moves later, set to kick off an uninterrupted run of European races at the beginning of June.
The British Grand Prix maintains its familiar position, with the race at Silverstone scheduled for July 5th.
The newly added race in Madrid will conclude the European portion of the season in September.
The 2026 calendar features only two triple-headers, both occurring towards the end of the championship.
The races in Austin (USA), Mexico City, and Sao Paulo (Brazil) will form one triple-header. The season will again conclude with a triple-header comprising Las Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi over the final three weeks.
