Inter Milan has announced that their star striker, Lautaro Martinez, has sustained a new injury. The club confirmed that the Argentine international has a “muscle strain in the soleus muscle of his left leg.” Reports from Italy suggest this will rule him out of action for approximately two weeks.
Martinez recently returned to the field after a previous muscle issue, scoring two goals in Inter’s 5-2 victory against Roma. During his prior absence, Inter’s performance saw a dip, with two wins, three draws, and two losses in seven matches.
The Nerazzurri currently lead Serie A by seven points with seven games left. Their next fixture is an away match against Cesc Fabregas’ Como on Sunday, April 12th. Lautaro Martinez remains the league’s top scorer with 16 goals in 26 appearances.
