British tennis player Jack Draper is set to significantly revamp his coaching setup by bringing in Jamie Delgado, formerly a coach for Andy Murray. While James Trotman, Draper`s long-term coach, will maintain an important role, Delgado will assume the primary coaching responsibilities and accompany Draper to most tournaments.
Delgado`s Illustrious Coaching Career
Delgado, a former British Davis Cup player, holds the men`s record for 23 consecutive Wimbledon appearances. He first joined Murray`s coaching team in 2016, initially alongside Ivan Lendl, during what was the most successful phase of Murray`s career. Delgado stayed with Murray until the close of the 2021 season, subsequently coaching both Denis Shapovalov and Grigor Dimitrov.
Both Shapovalov and Dimitrov have praised the positive influence of the 48-year-old coach. With Trotman expressing a desire for more time at home, Draper moved quickly to secure Delgado`s services after his coaching relationship with Grigor Dimitrov concluded last month.

Road to Recovery and Preseason Plans
This new coaching partnership is set to commence during the preseason period. Draper is currently focused on recuperating from a persistent left arm injury, which has limited him to just a single match since Wimbledon. After his second-round exit at the All England Club, he was diagnosed with bone bruising. His attempted comeback at the US Open was cut short when he withdrew before his second-round match, subsequently deciding to end his season prematurely.
This unfortunately extinguished the 23-year-old`s hopes of making his debut at the ATP Finals, causing his ranking to drop to eighth during his time away from the tour. Draper is expected to make his return to competitive play at the Ultimate Tennis Showdown Grand Final in London this December.
