Josh Fremd (12-6) recently reflected on his impressive third-round TKO victory over Jarrah Hussein Al-Silawi (21-7) at PFL Pittsburgh on March 28th. The fighter also openly discussed his previous release from the UFC and his upcoming venture into bare-knuckle boxing with BKFC, confirming a fight scheduled within weeks.
Fremd provided an update on his medical status, stating, “I’m cleared, I think it’s like a seven-day thing to let these stitches heal up.” He further elaborated on his unique contractual situation, revealing that he had signed with BKFC before PFL entered the picture. “I signed it and PFL is letting me honor it,” he explained. While PFL and mixed martial arts remain his ultimate career aspirations, Fremd, a former Golden Gloves boxer, expressed a strong desire to test his skills in the bare-knuckle arena. “Obviously PFL is my goal, MMA is a goal. I was a Golden Gloves boxer, and I want to give myself a test in this.” He also shared his enthusiasm about the prospect of competing on the same card as his teammate, Chris Camozzi, adding, “It would be an honor to share the card with him.”
