Liverpool has officially clinched the 2024-25 Premier League title following a decisive 5-1 victory against Tottenham at Anfield, with four league matches still remaining in the season.
The team, now managed by Arne Slot, last held a major trophy parade when celebrating the FA Cup and Carabao Cup wins in 2022. As the club couldn`t fully celebrate their 19th league title back then due to Covid-19 protocols, they are keen to ensure fans can join in the celebrations this time around.
Significantly, Councillor Liam Robinson, the Leader of Liverpool City Council, has extended a formal invitation to the club to participate in a victory parade to mark the Premier League success. The club has formally accepted this offer.
When is Liverpool`s Premier League Title Parade?
Since the official presentation of the Premier League trophy will take place after the final game of the season against Crystal Palace at Anfield on May 25, the victory parade is scheduled for after this date. As the following day is a bank holiday in the UK, Monday, May 26, has been chosen for Liverpool`s open-top bus parade across the city. The parade is expected to commence at approximately 2:30 pm local time.
Liverpool Title Parade Route Details
The anticipated route is expected to be similar to the path taken during the 2022 trophy parade through Merseyside. The bus is likely to begin on Queen`s Drive, continue to Mill Bank, then proceed to West Derby, and finish at Blundell Street.
This route was also used for the Champions League victory celebration in 2019 and is expected to be followed again. The parade is estimated to last around five hours and will include passage through prominent areas such as Islington, Leeds Street, and The Strand.
Considerable excitement is anticipated as the club celebrates this significant league title. However, for safety purposes, fans are strictly prohibited from bringing pyrotechnics or flares.
How to Watch the Parade
Following the precedent set in 2022, when the event was streamed across Liverpool`s official social media channels, it is highly probable that the club will again provide live coverage of the Premier League title parade. Fans will likely be able to watch via LFCTV (available on platforms like Sky channel 425 and Virgin Media channel 544 in the UK) or through the LFCTV GO streaming service. Live streams might also be available on the club`s official Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube channels.
Participants in the Parade
The parade is planned to feature three open-top buses carrying the players and staff along the approximately nine-mile (15 km) route through Liverpool`s landmarks.
Notably, former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp, who secured the 2020 Premier League title, will be in the city for the LFC Foundation`s annual gala dinner on Friday, May 23, just before the parade weekend. While he will be in Liverpool during the celebrations, it is considered unlikely that he will join the parade bus.
Live music is also expected to be a part of the event, with DJ and lifelong Liverpool fan Calvin Harris anticipated to be on one of the buses.
