Masters Par 3 Contest: Rory McIlroy’s Daughter Poppy’s Magical Putt

Golf news

Rory McIlroy`s four-year-old daughter, Poppy, became the star of the Masters Par 3 contest on Wednesday. She amazed the crowd by sinking an impressive 25-foot downhill putt with apparent ease.

Expectations were understandably low when Poppy approached her ball on the ninth green, holding the putter in just one hand. However, everyone was pleasantly surprised when her gentle tap sent the ball rolling smoothly towards the hole.

As the ball dropped into the hole, an astonished McIlroy raised his arms in celebration, and Poppy was rewarded with a heartwarming hug from her proud father.

`We have been waiting for nine months since the last major, so ending the preparation with such a delightful afternoon is fantastic,` McIlroy mentioned to reporters.

`If you are not prepared by this point, you`ve missed your chance. Now it`s time to enjoy ourselves, go home for dinner, and get some rest before Thursday.`

McIlroy is considered a top contender for this year`s Masters tournament, which starts on Thursday. He is once again aiming to secure the coveted green jacket and join the exclusive club of players who have achieved a career Grand Slam.
