Milan Executives’ Futures Uncertain Amidst Club Crisis

Reports from Italy suggest that the positions of Milan executives Giorgio Furlani, Igli Tare, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Geoffrey Moncada are under scrutiny as the club continues to face a crisis of results.

Director’s Futures in Doubt as Poor Performance Continues

AC Milan currently sits in fourth place in the Serie A standings, tied on points with Roma. This puts them at risk of missing out on Champions League qualification in the final two matches of the 2025-26 season. This is a significant downturn, especially considering the Rossoneri spent a considerable portion of the campaign in second place, holding a nine-point lead over fifth place at the start of March.

La Gazzetta dello Sport has characterized the team’s form as a complete collapse. They have managed to win only two of their eight Serie A matches since their victory against champions Inter in the Derby della Madonnina on March 8. Massimiliano Allegri’s squad has secured just four points from their last six outings.

This situation has led to uncertainty regarding the futures of several Rossoneri directors.

Fans have publicly expressed their dissatisfaction with CEO Furlani. Supporters from the Curva Sud recently issued a strong statement, specifically calling out Furlani and urging him to “pack his bags and leave Milan, for he is the prime figure responsible for the team’s fourth consecutive year of sporting failure.”

However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the doubt extends beyond Furlani. Tare, Moncada, and Ibrahimovic are also part of the management team that has overseen another season of disappointment for the Rossoneri.

For the time being, the club’s sole focus is on ensuring the team secures a top-four finish. Failure to do so would necessitate a scaling back of Milan’s short and medium-term ambitions. Retaining head coach Allegri without Champions League football would also prove challenging.

A comprehensive review of the situation is expected to take place immediately after the conclusion of the 2025-26 season. Milan faces relatively favorable fixtures against Genoa and Cagliari in the coming weeks, but significant changes could occur if the squad fails to qualify for the Champions League.
