Milan Target Panichelli Out for 5-6 Months with Serious Knee Injury

Sport news

AC Milan’s pursuit of RC Strasbourg striker Joaquin Panichelli has come to an abrupt halt following a severe knee injury sustained by the player. The forward, who was on international duty with Argentina, was diagnosed with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament after a training session.

Panichelli on Milan’s Radar

As the current top scorer in Ligue 1 with 16 goals, Panichelli was also poised to represent Argentina at the 2026 World Cup. However, this serious setback means he will now be out of action for approximately five to six months.

His agent, Martin Gastadisegno, had confirmed in October that AC Milan had been “following him for some time” and were keen on a potential summer transfer. With Panichelli’s return date uncertain, Milan will now need to explore other options for a striker.

The Italian club was already in search of a new centre-forward, especially after Santiago Gimenez was sidelined for several months following surgery.
