Milan’s Struggles Threaten Champions League Spot

Sport news

AC Milan is experiencing a significant dip in performance, having lost four of their last seven Serie A matches, which has dangerously pushed them towards fifth place in the standings.

The Rossoneri’s recent 3-0 home defeat to Udinese marks their second consecutive loss in the league. Just a month ago, Milan celebrated a crucial 1-0 victory over Inter Milan, closing the gap to seven points at the top of the table and maintaining a comfortable nine-point lead over the fifth-placed team.

However, a subsequent poor run of results has not only eliminated them from the Scudetto contention but also intensified the battle for a top-four finish. Milan has now suffered three of their five losses this season in their last four outings, with a concerning four defeats in their most recent seven league games.

Compounding these issues, the Rossoneri have failed to score in any of their last four defeats, a stark indicator of their offensive struggles. Prior to their loss against Parma on February 22nd, Massimiliano Allegri’s squad had only experienced one defeat and had managed to score in every match except for a goalless draw away at Juventus.

Currently, Milan holds a five-point lead over fifth-placed Como. However, Como has a game in hand, which they will play against Inter. Furthermore, Milan’s advantage over Juventus has shrunk to just three points, with a pivotal encounter between the two sides scheduled at San Siro in two weeks, on April 26th.
