Бывшая звезда UFC Молли МакКанн готовится к дебюту в боксе в конце этого года, объявив о завершении своей карьеры в смешанных единоборствах (ММА).
МакКанн объявила об уходе из UFC в марте, после поражения от Алексии Тайнары, завершив десятилетие выступлений в этом виде спорта.
35-летняя спортсменка, известная под прозвищем «Мясной Шарик» (полученным благодаря работе в сэндвич-баре), пока не раскрыла имя своего первого соперника.
«Настало подходящее время покинуть ММА, и я сделала это, зная, что меня ждет карьера в боксе. Мой боксерский опыт очевиден. Я постоянно ходила в боксерский зал, когда росла, потому что мне нравится драться и наносить удары. Я просто могу выйти и драться с кем угодно, где угодно и когда угодно».

МакКанн завершила свою ММА-карьеру с результатом 14 побед и 8 поражений, но теперь подписала контракт с промоутерской компанией Matchroom, чтобы начать боксерскую карьеру.

Molly McCann: From UFC Star to Boxing Debut
Former UFC star Molly McCann is set to launch her boxing career later this year, following her retirement from mixed martial arts (MMA).
McCann announced her departure from the UFC in March, after a submission loss to Alexia Thainara, bringing an end to a decade-long career in the sport.
The 35-year-old athlete, affectionately known as `Meatball` due to her past work in a sandwich shop, has yet to reveal the identity of her inaugural opponent.
“It was the opportune moment to exit MMA, and I did so, confident that a boxing career awaited me. My boxing pedigree is evident. I was consistently at the boxing gym while growing up because I enjoy fighting and throwing punches. I can just step in. I will fight anyone, anywhere, anytime.”

McCann`s MMA career concluded with a record of 14 victories and 8 defeats, but she has now signed with Matchroom to embark on her boxing journey.
Promoter Eddie Hearn commented: “She will now compete as a boxer, and frankly, it`s about time. She’s a former ABA champion, and her boxing abilities are well-known to everyone. Clearly, she was a massive star in the UFC and built a global profile for herself. We are absolutely thrilled to begin this journey and that she chose Matchroom. She will be fighting all over the world, and we anticipate some truly massive nights. We aim to keep her busy and active.”
