Monaco Grand Prix 2025: Dates, Full Schedule, Weather Forecast & UK Start Times

F1 news

Formula 1 continues its European triple-header with the Monaco Grand Prix, widely regarded as the most famous event on the F1 calendar.

Max Verstappen`s recent victory in Imola has intensified the title race, bringing him within 22 points of championship leader Oscar Piastri.

Lando Norris has also made gains, now trailing his McLaren team-mate by just 13 points. Oscar Piastri finished second behind Charles Leclerc at last year`s Monaco race.

Charles Leclerc secured his first home victory in Monaco 12 months ago. Ferrari will be aiming for a strong performance at the front, following Lewis Hamilton`s near-podium finish in Imola.

Mercedes had a challenging time in Italy, with George Russell recording his worst result of the season in seventh place and Kimi Antonelli retiring from the race.

A significant change for the Monaco race this Sunday is the introduction of a mandatory two-stop strategy, designed to inject more excitement into what has often been a predictable Grand Prix.

This change could significantly shake things up, making the pit-stop phases particularly thrilling and bringing the element of fortune into play.

Monaco GP Circuit

Monaco is one of only four current F1 events that featured on the inaugural 1950 calendar. It has remained a staple on the schedule for the past 70 years, with the sole exception being its cancellation in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

With a layout spanning just two miles, it is the shortest track on the calendar, making overtaking exceptionally challenging. Iconic sections like Sainte Devote, Casino Square, the Hairpin, the Tunnel, Tabac Corner, the Swimming Pool Chicane, and La Rascasse define this tight and demanding circuit.

Qualifying is paramount for success here and is often a season highlight as drivers push the limits, often grazing the barriers in pursuit of the fastest lap.

Monaco GP Weather

The weather forecast for the Monaco Grand Prix weekend anticipates cool conditions, with temperatures expected to be between 18°C and 20°C throughout the three days.

There is a 50% chance of rain forecast for Qualifying on Saturday, but Sunday`s race is currently expected to be dry and sunny.
