WHAT HAPPENED
Major League Soccer has officially unveiled the full rosters for the 2025 MLS NEXT All-Star Game, presented by Allstate. The league announced the 44 leading young prospects chosen for this showcase event during a presentation held at 11 a.m. ET on July 2nd. This annual youth all-star match, designed to highlight the top talent emerging from MLS academy systems and other elite development programs, is scheduled for Monday, July 21st at 7:30 p.m. CT. It will take place at Parmer Field in Austin, Texas, and fans can stream it live for free on MLS`s official YouTube channel and MLSsoccer.com.
MLS NEXT Technical Director Luis Robles commented, “These 44 players truly represent the highest standard of performance and future potential across our MLS NEXT Academies. We feel privileged to acknowledge the dedication and effort these players and their clubs have invested throughout the season. We eagerly anticipate watching them compete on July 21st and experiencing the full MLS All-Star Week in Austin.”
WHAT DAN KEATS SAID
Dan Keats, Allstate’s Director of Sponsorships, shared his perspective with MLS, stating, “We are deeply committed to supporting young athletes and the communities that play a vital role in their success. Our sponsorship of the MLS NEXT All-Star Game is an investment in the future trajectory of the sport, celebrating the commitment, character, and inherent potential of these outstanding players hailing from both the U.S. and Canada.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Among the notable Homegrown players selected for the 2025 All-Stars are Gustavo Caraballo from Orlando City SC, Robert Turdean representing Chicago Fire FC, and Kaedren Spivey of the San Jose Earthquakes. These emerging talents underscore the league`s strategic focus on cultivating domestic players as opposed to exclusively depending on international transfers. This represents a fundamental transformation in MLS`s roster-building philosophy over the last decade.
Previous participants in this annual event include notable names such as Cavan Sullivan (Philadelphia Union), Zavier Gozo (Real Salt Lake), Jonathan Shore (New York City FC), and Benjamin Cremaschi (Inter Miami CF).
WHAT’S NEXT?
Following the roster announcement on Tuesday, the selected players will complete their final preparations with their respective academy teams before traveling to Austin for the upcoming match. The game is set to be a key component of the broader MLS All-Star Week festivities happening in Austin, effectively integrating the youth showcase with the league`s main senior All-Star celebrations.
