Paddy Pimblett to Face Michael Chandler at UFC 314

MMA news

Paddy Pimblett is scheduled to return to fighting after nine months, facing Michael Chandler in the co-main event of UFC 314 in Miami on April 12.

Known as `Paddy The Baddy`, Pimblett aims to keep his undefeated UFC record at 6-0 when he takes on Chandler, whose record stands at 2-4. Chandler is looking to bounce back from a defeat last November, which marked his return to the octagon after a two-year absence.

This five-round lightweight match will serve as the co-main event, supporting the headline fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes for the featherweight title.

Pimblett is coming off a victory against King Green at UFC 304 in July of the previous year, where he secured a first-round submission, arguably his best performance in the Octagon to date.

A win in this significant test could pave the way for Pimblett, who has a large fanbase, to compete against top contenders in the lightweight division.

UFC executive Dana White also announced the main event for UFC 315 in Montreal, impacting Leon Edwards` upcoming fight.

Belal Muhammad, who defeated Edwards in London at UFC 304 to win the welterweight title, will defend his title in Montreal against Della Maddalena. Maddalena was initially expected to face Edwards in London on March 22.

Consequently, Edwards will now face Australian Sean Brady at the O2 Arena as Maddalena receives a title opportunity.

Edwards, aged 33, is focused on regaining his position as a title contender after his loss to Muhammad in London.
