Fiorentina director Fabio Paratici has reportedly enquired about Fabio Maresca’s availability for the upcoming season. However, the former Chelsea coach is understood to be prioritising a return to the Premier League, with a strong interest in Manchester City should Pep Guardiola leave the club.
Paratici reportedly contacted Maresca, who has been without a club since January after mutually parting ways with Chelsea. During his tenure at Chelsea, Maresca secured victories in the Conference League and the Club World Cup. Despite the reported contact, the Italian tactician is considered an unlikely candidate to take charge at the Stadio Artemio Franchi next season.
Maresca is expected to hold out for opportunities in the English top flight. His primary focus is reportedly on Manchester City, where he previously served on Guardiola’s coaching staff and established a strong rapport with the Spanish manager.
Within Serie A, Maresca would reportedly only consider offers from Juventus and Napoli. Nevertheless, these Italian giants are anticipated to retain Luciano Spalletti and Antonio Conte, respectively, for the next season.
