Significant structural shifts are reportedly underway within AS Roma’s operational model. However, concerning club icon Francesco Totti, the current proposal is limited to a role as a brand ambassador, devoid of any executive authority.
For several weeks, speculation mounted about the potential return of the club legend to the Stadio Olimpico in a significant directorial capacity.
Totti Offered Symbolic Role Amidst Club Restructuring

These rumors gained traction after Totti was seen attending some home games again, a practice he largely avoided following his contentious departure from the club in the summer of 2019.
His initial exit occurred under the previous ownership. Consequently, there were suggestions that the Friedkin family, the current owners, were engaging in discussions with Totti regarding a potential comeback.
Nevertheless, Sky Sport Italia now reports that Roma indeed intends for Totti to occupy a purely ceremonial position as a brand ambassador, without any influence over club decisions.
This is a type of role he previously declined, but he might now be more receptive to the idea.
In parallel, more substantial changes are unfolding. Calcio e Finanza exclusively reveals that Roma has resolved to acquire the Centro Sportivo Fulvio Bernardini training ground in Trigoria, after two decades of leasing the facility.
The complex was originally sold for €30 million in December 2005 as a strategic move to stabilize the club’s financial position.
