AS Roma’s challenges are mounting as they prepare for today’s Serie A match against Lecce, scheduled to kick off at the Stadio Olimpico at 17:00 GMT (18:00 CET). The club’s roster of unavailable players has unfortunately expanded with the addition of Zeki Celik and Manu Koné.
The Giallorossi have been on a difficult run of form recently, having been eliminated from the Coppa Italia, dropping to sixth place in Serie A after collecting just one point from their last three league outings, and suffering elimination from the Europa League by Bologna.
A particularly costly 4-3 defeat in extra time proved to be a significant blow, directly contributing to these fresh injury concerns for the team.
Roma’s Injury Crisis Continues to Worsen
Midfielder Manu Koné was forced to leave the pitch in the early stages of that Round of 16 tie and is now expected to be sidelined for approximately a month. Furthermore, Zeki Celik has been omitted from the squad list to face Lecce, reportedly due to a calf issue, though initial indications suggest there are no severe lesions.
These new setbacks compound an already difficult situation for Roma, who are currently without Matias Soulé, Paulo Dybala, Artem Dovbyk, and Evan Ferguson.
Adding to the team’s complications, Wesley is suspended following a controversial red card received during a defeat to Como. On a more positive note, Evan Ndicka will be available for selection again after serving his ban.
