Singapore GP: Max Verstappen Sets the Pace in Tightly Contested Final Practice

F1 news

In a fiercely competitive final practice session for the Singapore Grand Prix, Max Verstappen emerged as the quickest driver. The session highlighted an incredibly close field, with an astonishingly small margin of less than one-tenth of a second separating the top five contenders, foreshadowing a truly electrifying qualifying battle.

Defying expectations that the Red Bull team might struggle on this particular street circuit, Verstappen narrowly secured the top spot, clocking in just 0.017 seconds ahead of championship rival Oscar Piastri.

Meanwhile, George Russell of Mercedes trailed Verstappen by merely 0.049 seconds. His Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli and McLaren`s Lando Norris demonstrated identical pace, both finishing 0.089 seconds behind Verstappen`s leading time.

“That was an outstanding session for Max Verstappen. To secure the fastest time will undoubtedly boost his confidence,” remarked F1 analyst David Croft. “What`s truly exciting is seeing less than a tenth of a second separating the leading five cars. All eyes are now on qualifying – this promises to be epic!”
