Spalletti’s Juventus Targets: Calafiori, Tonali, and More

Sport news

Luciano Spalletti has extended his contract with Juventus through 2028, and reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport highlight eleven top transfer targets for the Italian manager. Among the prominent names are Premier League stars Riccardo Calafiori and Sandro Tonali.

Juventus officially announced Spalletti’s contract extension on Friday. The Serie A club has opted to continue with their current manager before the outcome of their European competition qualification for the next season is known. Currently, Juventus sits one point behind fourth-placed Como.

Multiple sources suggest Spalletti will have significant influence on the club’s summer signings. Gazzetta’s list of eleven key targets includes Tonali, currently at Newcastle, and Calafiori, playing for Arsenal. The report emphasizes Juventus’s strategy to build a strong core of Italian players, making these two talented domestic footballers playing abroad natural priorities.

However, both Calafiori and Tonali come with substantial price tags. Their potential willingness to return to Serie A might be the only factor that could help Juventus negotiate lower transfer fees with Arsenal and Newcastle.

In goal, Liverpool’s Alisson is reportedly Spalletti’s preferred choice, having previously worked with the goalkeeper during their time at Roma.

Juventus is also targeting several free agents, including Marcos Senesi from Bournemouth, Zeki Celik from Roma, Bernardo Silva from Manchester City, and Robert Lewandowski from Barcelona. Despite interest in the Barcelona forward, Randal Kolo Muani remains the primary attacking target for the upcoming summer.

Gazzetta also mentions Napoli midfielder Stanislav Lobotka and Al-Hilal forward Darwin Nunez as players on Juventus’s radar for the summer transfer window. The club’s transfer budget will heavily depend on whether they secure a Champions League spot.
