Tennis legend Venus Williams officially announced her marriage to Andrea Preti via social media this Tuesday.

The couple exchanged vows and became husband and wife over the weekend in Palm Beach, Florida, as part of an extended five-day wedding celebration.

Williams, who is 45 years old, had previously given thanks to her then-fiancé, Preti, after achieving a significant career milestone in July: becoming the second-oldest woman ever to secure a tour-level singles victory. Preti is known as a Danish-born Italian model and actor.

Prior to her appearance at the Washington D.C. Open, the former world number one had not competed in a tournament for 16 months.

The seven-time Grand Slam singles champion intends to continue her decorated career, planning to start her 33rd consecutive season on the WTA Tour in Auckland this upcoming January.
