THE PLAYERS Championship 2026 Field Announced

Golf news

The organizers of THE PLAYERS Championship have announced the field for the 2026 event, which will return to THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass from March 10-15.

The tournament will feature 123 golfers, including 47 of the top 50 players in the Official World Golf Ranking, representing 24 countries.

Brooks Koepka was added to the field (as the 121st player) as part of the PGA TOUR’s Returning Member Program, ensuring his participation did not take a spot from a current Tour member. To form complete threesomes, the field was officially expanded to 123 players as of Monday noon ET. The first two alternates at that time – Patton Kizzire and Seamus Power – were subsequently included in the lineup.

Further details on the field:

  • Seven past PLAYERS Champions are in the field: Rory McIlroy (2019, 2025), Scottie Scheffler (2023, 2024), Justin Thomas (2021), Si Woo Kim (2017), Jason Day (2016), Rickie Fowler (2015), and Adam Scott (2004).
  • Two-time champions Scottie Scheffler (2023, 2024) and Rory McIlroy (2019, 2025) are aiming to become the first to win THE PLAYERS three times since Jack Nicklaus (1974, 1976, 1978), and the first to achieve this feat three times at TPC Sawgrass.
  • The 2004 champion, Adam Scott, qualified through his standing in the FedExCup after the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches (20th place). Scott holds the record for most appearances among all players in the field with 24. Justin Rose is second with 21 appearances.
  • Fourteen players are making their tournament debut, including three PGA TOUR winners: Zach Bauchou, Michael Brennan, Pierceson Coody, Zecheng Dou, A.J. Ewart, Steven Fisk, Takumi Kanaya, Johnny Keefer, William Mouw, Marco Penge, Kristoffer Reitan, Jordan Smith, Michael Thorbjornsen, Sudarshan Yellamaraju.
  • Of the 14 debutants, seven are PGA TOUR rookies: Zach Bauchou, A.J. Ewart, Johnny Keefer, Marco Penge, Kristoffer Reitan, Jordan Smith, and Sudarshan Yellamaraju.
  • The last player to enter the field was Seamus Power (No. 78 in the FedExCup standings after the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches), and the first alternate is David Ford.
