Tom Aspinall`s father has confirmed that the UFC heavyweight still has no vision in his right eye following his recent title bout against Ciryl Gane.
The much-anticipated UFC title defense for Aspinall concluded as a `no contest` on Saturday in Abu Dhabi. The British MMA star was forced to stop fighting in the very first round after sustaining an eye poke.

The incident occurred when Gane seemingly poked Aspinall`s eye with his fingers following a punch. During a brief pause, Aspinall informed the ringside doctor that his vision was completely impaired.
Medical Update and Recovery
Aspinall Sr. shared on his son`s official YouTube channel, `Tom Aspinall Official`, that they secured a private consultation at Cheadle Hospital with a UFC-affiliated doctor the previous morning.
The doctor`s prognosis was concerning: “It`s bad, it`s not good.” Aspinall`s eye remains more swollen than before, and his right eye currently offers no sight, appearing only as a grey blur.
Furthermore, his left eye is only at 50% capacity, resulting in one eye being significantly blurry while the other remains non-functional.
There`s also an issue with his eye muscles not tracking correctly, indicating insufficient strength. Aspinall is scheduled for further diagnostic tests this week, including a CT scan, to confirm there is no underlying bone damage, which doctors tentatively believe is not the case.
