Boxing’s WBC titleholder, Oleksandr Usyk, is set to clash with former GLORY kickboxing heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven this Saturday. The highly anticipated bout, dubbed “Glory in Giza,” will take place at the breathtaking Pyramids of Giza in Egypt.
The two formidable athletes met earlier this week for a compelling face-off, building anticipation for the May 23rd fight.
This unique matchup features a special stipulation regarding the titles. As Verhoeven is not currently ranked by the major boxing sanctioning bodies, he can only win the WBC World Heavyweight Title and the Ring Magazine Championship. Should Usyk be defeated, the WBA and IBF titles are expected to become vacant.
The entire event will be broadcast live exclusively on DAZN Pay-Per-View.
