Vanoli on Kean’s Injury: “Day by Day” for Crucial Cremonese Match

Sport news

Fiorentina manager Paolo Vanoli has confirmed that striker Moise Kean’s injury is being evaluated daily, with hopes he will recover in time for the critical Serie A fixture against Cremonese.

Kean, a key player for Fiorentina, is definitely out of the upcoming Conference League Round of 16 first leg match against Rakow, as stated by Vanoli during Wednesday’s press conference.

Vanoli elaborated, “We are continuing his recovery process and assessing him day by day. Our goal is to have him ready for the game in Cremona.”

Kean is currently recovering from a fibula injury. His return for the away match against Cremonese is vital, given Fiorentina sits just one point clear of the relegation zone, directly above their upcoming opponents.

Meanwhile, Gudmundsson is anticipated to be available for the Rakow clash, though he isn’t at peak fitness.

“He needs to regain full fitness after his ankle problem. While he might lack a decisive edge currently, he still contributes significantly,” Vanoli explained.

“I prefer him in his new role over playing as a support striker. He just needs to rediscover his spark; we’re confident he can be decisive in the upcoming matches.”

“Our full focus is on this match. The Conference League is a significant trophy we aim to respect and progress as far as possible in. Rakow performed exceptionally well in the group stage; they defend stoutly and have conceded only two goals. We need to approach this as a two-legged tie and play smartly. Thoughts will turn to Cremonese starting Friday.”
