Amorim ready to start new Milan job on July 6

Sport news

New Milan coach Ruben Amorim is expected to arrive in Italy on July 6 to begin work, with the first training session of pre-season on July 13.

The 41-year-old tactician was formally appointed last week with a contract to June 2028, his first experience since he was sacked as manager of Manchester United on January 5.

Precisely seven months on from that date is when he will formally start work in his new club, as La Gazzetta dello Sport and MilanNews claim that the schedule is set for him to arrive at Milanello on July 6.

It will be an opportunity to inspect the facilities at the training camp and meet the directors in person, although he is expected to return to Portugal for a few days to finalise the paperwork for this big move.

Players are due to arrive at the ground for pre-season tests on July 12, followed by the first training session a day later.

The transfer strategy is seemingly in no rush, because it’s reported that Amorim wants to fully evaluate all the players in the squad before making any decisions.

That includes those returning from loan spells, such as Yunus Musah, Francesco Camarda, Kevin Zeroli, and Samuel Chukwueze.
