Andreas Schjelderup has become one of Europe’s most sought-after young attackers. Following an impressive start to the World Cup with Norway, both Milan and Como have reportedly entered the race to sign the Benfica winger. He joins a growing list of clubs, including Liverpool, Tottenham, and Atletico Madrid, who are closely monitoring the 22-year-old talent.
According to reports from TuttoMercatoWeb, Benfica values Schjelderup at approximately €30 million. This valuation is double what Club Brugge were willing to pay in January. His stock rose significantly after a match-winning brace against Real Madrid, which reportedly prompted José Mourinho to take him off the market.
Parma had also shown strong interest during the winter transfer window. The club’s CEO, Federico Cherubini, admitted that Parma came close to securing a deal but ultimately failed to finalize it.
Schjelderup’s World Cup Performances Fuel Serie A Transfer Speculation, Barcelona Also Linked
Schjelderup, a left-footed winger who is equally comfortable on either flank, had a productive last season for Benfica. He contributed 10 goals and 7 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions, performances that have understandably garnered significant attention from clubs across Europe.
His involvement in the World Cup has further amplified his profile. He came off the bench to help Norway secure a 3-2 victory against Senegal, paving their way to the last 16.
The talented Norwegian has also been linked with a move to Barcelona, with some suggesting he could be a potential successor to Marcus Rashford. However, Schjelderup remained measured when questioned about these rumors, stating, “It would be fantastic if those rumours were true, but at the moment I don’t know anything concrete.” As his value continues to rise rapidly and the list of interested clubs expands weekly, Benfica appears to be in a strong negotiating position for when serious talks begin.
