Chelsea Express Interest in Marco Palestra, a Target for Inter and Man City

Sport news

Chelsea are reportedly entering the race to sign defender Marco Palestra, with preliminary talks having commenced with his agent.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Chelsea are among the clubs showing interest in Palestra, a right-back currently owned by Atalanta.

Palestra’s impressive performances during his loan spell at Cagliari in the 2025-26 season have established him as one of Italy’s most promising defensive talents. This has led to significant interest from other prominent clubs, including Inter Milan and Manchester City.

It is understood that Atalanta’s valuation of Palestra is over €50 million. Sky reports that Chelsea have now made contact with his agent, Alessandro Lucci, who also represents Arsenal’s Riccardo Calafiori.

However, Palestra’s preference is reportedly to remain in Serie A. Consequently, his primary focus is on awaiting an agreement between Inter Milan and Atalanta regarding his transfer fee.

Palestra made his debut for the senior Italian national team in March 2026 and has since earned two international caps.

While Atalanta is open to selling the player, an agreement between them and Inter Milan has yet to be reached.
