Ederson has personally confirmed that his transfer to Manchester United is essentially finalized. The Atalanta midfielder stated in an interview with Sky Sport that “it’s practically almost all sorted,” with only the final signature needed to seal one of the summer’s most notable Serie A departures.
The Brazilian international, currently participating in the World Cup with the Seleção, intends to remain focused on the tournament before fully shifting his attention to his club future.
“I have to make the most of this moment,” he remarked, as quoted by TuttoSport.
“I am here, and it is a wonderful thing, something you must always live to the fullest.”
His participation in the World Cup so far has been limited, having begun the opening match against Morocco on the bench before gaining playing time in the victory over Haiti.
This transfer will see Manchester United pay approximately €45 million to Atalanta, representing another substantial profit for the Bergamo club, who originally acquired Ederson from Salernitana for a significantly smaller sum. The 26-year-old has been a standout midfielder in Serie A over his four seasons in Bergamo, and Manchester United is acquiring a player at the height of his abilities.
The official completion of the transfer is anticipated once Brazil’s World Cup campaign concludes.
