Former Italian national team players Ciro Ferrara and Emanuele Giaccherini hold differing perspectives regarding Antonio Conte’s future at Napoli. While Ferrara, a former defender, expressed his belief that Conte will remain with the club, Giaccherini, a former winger, disagrees.
Despite having a contract with Napoli until June 2027, Conte’s long-term commitment to the Stadio Maradona remains a subject of speculation. Although the Italian manager has guided Napoli to a Champions League spot with a game to spare, his post-match comments on Sunday hinted at uncertainty about his future, revealing that he had already made a personal decision on the matter.
“I was listening carefully, but I have a different feeling. I think he’ll stay at Napoli,” Ferrara shared with DAZN.
Ferrara, who boasts a history with Juventus, Napoli, and the Italian national team as a defender, also shares a close personal relationship with Conte, having spent several years together in Turin.
In contrast, Giaccherini, who played under Conte at Juventus and with the Italian national team, holds a different outlook on the Italian tactician’s situation. “I think he’ll go. I don’t know, he looked a bit worn out,” Giaccherini commented.
Napoli appointed Conte in the summer of 2024, and he has since led the team to one Serie A title and one Supercoppa Italiana over the past two seasons.
