Fabio Paratici is Milan’s Top Target for New Sporting Director Role

Sport news

Fabio Paratici, who only recently accepted a position with Fiorentina in February, is reportedly being pursued by AC Milan to become their new Director of Sport.

The Rossoneri are undergoing a substantial restructuring of their leadership after failing to secure a Champions League qualification spot. This organizational overhaul has led to the dismissal of coach Max Allegri, CEO Giorgio Furlani, director of sport Igli Tare, and technical director Geoffrey Moncada, all announced in a single official statement.

While Andoni Areola and Xavi have been mentioned as potential candidates for the coaching role, the immediate priority for the club is to find a new Director of Sport to oversee their transfer strategy.

Paratici Emerges as Milan’s Primary Choice

According to reports from MilanPress, Calciomercato expert Daniele Longo, Matteo Moretto, and other sources, Fabio Paratici is considered the leading candidate for the Director of Sport position.

It is believed that Milan’s special advisor, Zlatan Ibrahimović, has already made direct contact with Paratici to gauge his interest and availability.

Paratici’s tenure at Fiorentina began in February, shortly after his departure from Tottenham Hotspur. Prior to his time in London, he served as the Director of Sport for Juventus from 2010 to 2021. During his tenure at Juventus, certain accounting practices related to player sales resulted in fines and point deductions for the club.

In April 2023, Paratici received a 30-month suspension from all football-related activities, returning to club duties in October 2025. It was the prospect of this extended ban that previously led Milan to withdraw a job offer to Paratici in April 2025.

Another individual considered for the role at Milan is Tony D’Amico, the current director at Atalanta. However, D’Amico is widely rumored to be heading to Roma instead. Atalanta is expected to appoint former Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli as D’Amico’s successor.
