Juventus is reportedly gearing up for discussions with Paris Saint-Germain regarding a permanent transfer for forward Randal Kolo Muani. The French striker is expected to return to PSG this summer after a largely uninspiring loan period with Tottenham Hotspur, and Juventus has identified him as a primary attacking acquisition.
According to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport, relayed by CalcioMercato, Juventus executives have already scheduled a meeting with PSG to ascertain the Ligue 1 champions’ valuation for a full transfer. Kolo Muani spent a portion of the previous season with Juventus, where he made an immediate impact and played a crucial role in the team securing Champions League qualification.
His adaptability, being able to play as a lone striker, a secondary forward, or from wider positions, makes him an appealing option for Luciano Spalletti. Spalletti has stipulated the need for at least one new centre-forward this summer, irrespective of the season’s final outcome.
Juventus Explores Loan-to-Buy Deal Amidst PSG’s Willingness to Negotiate Kolo Muani’s Sale
The main obstacle is the transfer fee. PSG acquired Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023 for €90 million, and the striker still holds a book value of approximately €36 million on their financial statements. Reports suggest the Parisian club is open to negotiations starting from around €40 million.
However, Juventus is keen on structuring the deal as a loan with an obligation to buy at a reduced price. They are aware that PSG’s book value for the player will decrease to roughly €18 million within the next twelve months. An offer in the vicinity of €25 million for the purchase obligation would still represent a capital gain for PSG, potentially allowing both clubs to reach an agreement.
Kolo Muani’s tenure at Tottenham did little to enhance his market value. Largely deployed out of position on the right wing under managers Thomas Frank, Igor Tudor, and Roberto De Zerbi, the French international failed to establish himself as a key player, and Spurs are not expected to pursue a permanent transfer.
