Italian media suggests that AC Milan is interested in Paris Saint-Germain forward Goncalo Ramos. Simultaneously, there’s reported MLS interest in Santiago Gimenez, which could provide Milan with the necessary funds to acquire the Portuguese striker.
Could Milan Replace Gimenez with Goncalo Ramos?
Transfer speculation continues to surround Milan, even without a permanent sporting or technical director. New head coach Ruben Amorim has recently been appointed, and several of his former compatriots and Sporting CP players have been linked with a move to San Siro, including Morten Hjulmand and Francisco Trincao.
According to reports from Corriere dello Sport, PSG striker Goncalo Ramos is the latest name on AC Milan’s wishlist.
Milan is expected to make changes to its attacking lineup this summer. Former head coach Massimiliano Allegri employed a 3-5-2 formation during the 2025-26 season, while Amorim is anticipated to utilize his preferred 3-4-2-1. With Rafael Leao highly likely to depart the club during the transfer window, a squad restructuring is almost certainly required.
Ramos was a player Milan considered signing last summer before ultimately acquiring Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea.
PSG paid €65 million plus up to €15 million in add-ons to sign Ramos from Benfica in the summer of 2023. Reports from Corriere dello Sport on Sunday indicate that an offer of €40 million might be sufficient to persuade PSG to sell him this summer.
Meanwhile, reports from Sunday suggest that Gimenez will not be a central figure in Amorim’s plans next season and will be allowed to leave if a suitable offer materializes.
Other reports indicate that MLS club Orlando City is eager to add the Mexico international to their squad this summer and could be prepared to offer as much as €26 million ($30 million) for the former Feyenoord striker.
Calciomercato claims that Orlando is willing to offer Gimenez a salary of €4.6 million plus significant bonuses, which would reportedly double his current earnings at Milan.
