August 14, 2026Diego Herrera2 мин

The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has revealed the six semifinal bouts for its upcoming PFL Africa: Morocco event on October 10th. This pivotal tournament round will determine the contenders for the PFL Africa Finals later this year, featuring athletes in the bantamweight, welterweight, and lightweight divisions. The event, hosted at the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca, is set to be Morocco's largest MMA spectacle to date.

The main event will pit Senegal's Abdoulaye Kane against Morocco's own Badr “Dastan” Medkouri in a highly anticipated heavyweight clash. Kane boasts an impressive record with all five of his victories coming by stoppage, including four knockouts and one submission. Medkouri, a formidable opponent with eight knockouts among his nine career wins, will be looking to secure a victory in front of his home crowd.

In the co-main event, an unbeaten Algerian-Canadian talent, Karim “The Kryptonian” Henniene, will face Nigeria's Raphael Uchegbu in a bantamweight semifinal. Henniene is carrying momentum from a swift first-round submission victory at PFL Africa: Nigeria in June. Uchegbu also made a strong impression on that same card with a decisive unanimous decision win.

The other bantamweight semifinal will feature Liberia's Dwight Joseph competing against Angola's Boule Godogo, opening the main card action.

The welterweight division will also see two semifinal contests. Angola's Shido Boris Esperança is scheduled to face South Africa's Peace Nguphane, while Guinea-Bissau's Rivaldo Pereira will go head-to-head with Nigeria's David Samuel.

The lightweight tournament is down to its final four. An all-Nigerian matchup will see Patrick Ocheme face Cornel Thompson, while Senegal's Demba Seck will compete against Chad's Hussain Al Kurdi.

The semifinal round showcases a diverse representation of talent from Algeria, Nigeria, Angola, South Africa, Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, Chad, Liberia, and Morocco, underscoring the expansive reach of the PFL Africa tournament. This event marks a significant milestone as PFL's inaugural competition in North Africa, continuing the league's broader continental expansion strategy spearheaded by General Manager Elias Schulze, who expressed a commitment to reaching "all four corners of the continent."
