Rafael Leão appears increasingly likely to depart AC Milan, especially following the team’s failure to secure a spot in the 2026-27 Champions League. The Portuguese international has recently disclosed which Premier League sides are his ‘favorites’ as the summer transfer window approaches.
Leão’s Preferences: Manchester United and Arsenal
A former Serie A MVP and Scudetto winner, Leão has scored 80 competitive goals during his seven seasons with the Rossoneri. However, after a challenging 2025-26 campaign where he and his teammates missed out on Champions League qualification despite spending a significant portion of the season in second place, his departure seems more probable.
There have been rumors linking him with clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea, and even Barcelona, should he become available this summer. Recent reports indicate that he has no interest in moving to Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, or the Saudi Pro League, despite rumored interest from those regions.
While speculation about Leão’s future continues, the attacker recently sat down for an interview with the Cernucci Podcast and discussed his preferred Premier League teams.
When asked if he follows the Premier League closely, he responded, “Yeah, of course.”
Upon being asked about his favorite teams, Leão chuckled before stating, “I like (Manchester) United because my idol is Cristiano Ronaldo, so back then, I used to watch them.”
He further added, “I like Arsenal also.”
