Ruben Amorim Takes Helm at AC Milan

Sport news

AC Milan has officially announced the hiring of Ruben Amorim as their new head coach, confirming the news on their official website.

Amorim, previously with Sporting CP and reportedly linked with Manchester United, steps into the managerial role at the San Siro following the exit of Massimiliano Allegri. Allegri’s tenure concluded after the team’s failure to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League.

While Allegri is set to move to Napoli, Amorim will now lead AC Milan, reportedly agreeing to a two-year contract that will keep him in Lombardy until 2028.

Amorim Eyes Rebuild at Milan After Previous Challenges

After parting ways with Manchester United earlier this year, the Portuguese tactician will be looking to spearhead a revival for the Rossoneri, a club that has experienced a period of inconsistency in recent seasons.

Amorim arrives with a proven track record, having showcased his capabilities in his native Portugal. His preferred 3-4-2-1 tactical system is anticipated to be a good fit for Serie A.

In their announcement, AC Milan emphasized Amorim’s coaching philosophy, stating, “Throughout his career, Amorim has developed a modern dominant tactical approach with clear player profiles and strong organizational design that develops young players and maximizes their potential.”

“AC Milan extends a warm welcome to Rúben and his staff,” the club concluded in their statement.
