Diego Moreira Completes Milan Medical, Contract Signing Expected Wednesday
Diego Moreira has successfully completed his medical examinations with AC Milan. However, the winger's transfer from Strasbourg will not be officially signed until Wednesday morning.
According to reports, the Belgian international passed his medical tests on Monday afternoon. He has since returned to his hotel in Milan, with the contract signing now scheduled for the following morning, rather than on the same day as initially planned.
Moreira's Milan Deal Could Reach €65 Million with Add-ons
AC Milan secured Moreira's signature ahead of competition from RB Leipzig. They agreed on a transfer fee that closely matched Strasbourg's valuation, though it fell slightly short of their initial €70 million asking price.
The Rossoneri are set to pay a base fee of €50 million. This amount could rise to a total package of €65 million, depending on the achievement of various bonuses, some of which are straightforward to trigger, while others are more demanding. If the deal reaches its maximum, Moreira would become one of the club's most expensive signings of the summer, alongside Gonçalo Ramos.
Roma had also expressed significant interest earlier in the transfer window. Strasbourg initially held out for a higher fee before Milan's pursuit accelerated.
The 22-year-old player, who can operate on the left flank as a wing-back, winger, or attacking midfielder, developed through Benfica's academy. He had a short stint at Chelsea, a loan spell at Lyon, and spent two seasons establishing himself in Ligue 1 with Strasbourg. He also represented Belgium in the recent World Cup.
