AC Milan is reportedly more amenable to receiving offers for their winger, Rafael Leao, this summer, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. The Italian publication suggests that securing the Portuguese international’s signature has become “easier than ever” for interested clubs, with Manchester United emerging as a potential suitor.
Despite Leao possessing a €175 million release clause, which becomes active from July 1st to 15th, Milan is aware that no club is likely to meet this valuation, especially after what has been described as another inconsistent season for the 26-year-old. Leao has faced criticism, including being booed by his own fans during a recent home loss, and has not scored since March 1st.
While the 2026 World Cup could theoretically influence his market value, Leao’s recent form for the Portuguese national team has also been a factor, with his last goal coming in November 2024. Previous reports indicated that Milan would consider offers in the region of €50 million, and Gazzetta now believes the Rossoneri are more willing than ever to part ways with the winger.
Although Bayern Munich and Barcelona have previously expressed interest, no concrete negotiations have taken place with Milan or Leao’s representatives. Chelsea, who reportedly made an €80 million offer in the past, may still be keen. However, Manchester United is highlighted as a club that could become a “more viable option than others,” according to the Italian report.
Rafael Leao’s current contract with AC Milan runs until June 2028. This season, he has recorded ten goals and two assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.
