Vincenzo Italiano may soon finalize a surprising transition to Turkey, as Besiktas has formally presented a two-year contract proposal amounting to €6 million net per season. According to journalist Alfredo Pedullà, the former Bologna manager has indicated his receptiveness to this offer.
The report from Pedullà further details that Besiktas has also proposed €2.5 million net annually to cover Italiano’s coaching staff. Negotiations are currently in an advanced phase, with both parties actively working to resolve any outstanding details.
Italiano Open to Turkish Move as Besiktas Talks Progress Significantly
Italiano concluded his tenure at Bologna at the season’s end after contract discussions failed to reach an agreement, despite leading the team to Coppa Italia victory the previous season and securing an eighth-place finish in Serie A this current campaign.
He had been rumored as a potential successor to Antonio Conte at Napoli. However, the Neapolitan club ultimately chose Massimiliano Allegri, thereby creating an opportunity for Besiktas to act swiftly.
The offer from Turkey represents a substantial financial package, positioning Italiano among the top-earning coaches in the Super Lig. The coach’s willingness to consider this proposal suggests that a move to another major European league did not materialize as anticipated following his departure from Bologna.
