Fabio Grosso has officially left his position at Sassuolo following a mutual agreement to terminate his contract. This move clears the path for the 2006 World Cup champion to be formally appointed as the new head coach of Fiorentina, with confirmation expected very soon.
Sassuolo released a concise official statement acknowledging the agreement. The club expressed gratitude to Grosso and his coaching staff for their contributions over two seasons, which saw the team promoted to Serie A and achieve an eleventh-place finish in the top flight this season.
The Italian manager had previously indicated his desire to depart, and both parties have now finalized their separation.

Fiorentina Deal Close as Grosso and Paratici Set to Reunite
Fiorentina has had an understanding with Grosso’s representatives for several weeks. A two-year contract worth approximately €1.2 million per season, with an option for a third year, has reportedly been agreed upon.
The club was awaiting Sassuolo’s official release of Grosso before making the announcement. Now that he is free from his contractual obligations, sporting director Fabio Paratici is expected to finalize the deal without further delay.
This appointment will mark a reunion between Grosso and Paratici, who was instrumental in giving Grosso his initial coaching role at Juventus’s youth academy.
The move signals the beginning of a new chapter for Fiorentina at the Stadio Franchi, following a challenging and disappointing season under previous coaches Stefano Pioli and Paolo Vanoli.
