Chivu and Inter Directors Discuss New Deal and Transfer Strategy
The club is reportedly considering a two-year extension to Chivu’s current contract, which is set to expire in June 2027. Inter has already prepared a new agreement that would extend his commitment to 2029 and includes a significant salary increase.
In addition to contract discussions, the meeting also covered future plans concerning important players, specifically mentioning Alessandro Bastoni, who is a target for Barcelona. Potential new signings to bolster the squad for the upcoming 2026-27 season were also on the agenda.
Chivu has just concluded his first full Serie A season as coach, leading Inter to both the Scudetto and Coppa Italia titles. A former Inter defender and ex-Romania international, Chivu previously coached Inter’s Primavera youth team and was part of the treble-winning squad in 2010 as a player under José Mourinho at the Stadio Meazza.
