Inter News: When Bisseck & Lautaro Are Expected Back from Injury

Sport news

Inter Milan will be without defenders Yann Bisseck and captain Lautaro Martinez for their upcoming Serie A match against Cagliari. Neither player has recovered sufficiently from their respective injuries to be available for the fixture.

Bisseck has not yet rejoined full team training after sustaining a muscle strain during the international break. According to Sky Sport, via FCInter1908, the German defender is anticipated to return either for the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final against Como on Wednesday or the league game against Torino the following Sunday.

Inter Captain Lautaro Targeted for Torino Clash Return

Meanwhile, Lautaro Martinez is not pushing for an early return against Cagliari. The captain has set his sights on the league fixture against Torino on Sunday, April 26th, as his target return date.

This latest setback means the Argentine striker will have missed a significant portion of the club’s 2026 fixtures, having already been sidelined earlier this year due to a soleus muscle injury sustained in the Champions League playoff against Bodo/Glimt in February.

With six league games remaining and a nine-point lead at the top of the table, manager Cristian Chivu has a comfortable buffer to manage the players’ return to fitness carefully. However, the sooner Lautaro is available, the stronger Inter will be in maintaining their lead in the title race.
