Jack Harrison has strongly indicated his wish to continue his career at Fiorentina beyond his current loan spell. Following the team’s victory over Lazio, the winger shared with reporters that any player would be pleased to represent the club, though he stopped short of confirming an immediate permanent transfer from Leeds.
Harrison has become an increasingly vital player under manager Paolo Vanoli, contributing his third Serie A assist of the season against Lazio with a well-placed cross that led to Robin Gosens’ goal in the first half. Despite sometimes being deployed on his less natural right flank, Vanoli’s trust has been rewarded with consistent, intelligent performances, making Harrison a key component of Fiorentina’s system. While injuries to other wide players have also contributed to his increased playing time, Harrison has earned his opportunities through merit.
“I am very happy in Florence; the city is incredible, and so is the club,” Harrison told reporters, as quoted by FirenzeViola. “Regarding the future, any player would obviously be happy to play here. We will see what happens.”
However, the financial aspects of a potential permanent transfer present a complex situation. Harrison is currently on loan from Leeds with a purchase option set at €7 million. While this fee is manageable on its own, it must be considered alongside other significant financial commitments Fiorentina is already facing this summer.
The club has mandatory buyouts for Fabbian (€13 million) and Brescianini (€10 million) in progress, with potential further expenses for Rugani and Manor Solomon. Among these potential deals, Harrison’s future remains the most uncertain. Nevertheless, a key factor could significantly alter the outlook: if head coach Paolo Vanoli, who is known to be a strong admirer of Harrison, remains in charge, the likelihood of the player staying in Florence increases considerably. The manager’s decision could ultimately prove to be the decisive element in what promises to be an interesting transfer window for the club.
