Reports from Italy suggest that Henrikh Mkhitaryan has finalized his decision about his future. He is expected to remain with the Serie A champions, Inter, for the 2026-27 season.
Mkhitaryan Agrees to Extend Inter Stay
The 37-year-old midfielder’s current contract is set to expire on June 30. Inter has given the Armenian international the autonomy to decide whether to hang up his boots at the end of the 2025-26 campaign or to continue playing for the club for an additional year.
Despite his advanced age, Mkhitaryan has demonstrated his continued value to Cristian Chivu’s squad. Furthermore, he provides considerable experience, especially as Inter is anticipated to lose some of its veteran players this summer, including Francesco Acerbi, Matteo Darmian, and Yann Sommer.
In the 2025-26 season, he participated in 39 matches across all competitions, contributing four goals and three assists from midfield.
Now, according to information from Gianluca Di Marzio, Mkhitaryan has decided to continue his tenure with Inter for another season. He is anticipated to meet with the club shortly to negotiate the financial terms of a new agreement.
