Gustavo Trujillo Defends Heavyweight Crown with Ninth Career Knockout at BKB 58
At BKB 58, held in Miami, Florida, Gustavo "The Cuban Assassin" Trujillo retained his BKB Heavyweight World Title by knocking out challenger Mick Terrill. This marked Trujillo's ninth career knockout in bare-knuckle boxing.
Terrill, a former BKB heavyweight champion, stepped in on short notice and attempted to reclaim the title. However, in the closing moments of the second round, Trujillo landed a powerful shot to the liver, ending the fight.
The BKB CEO, David Tetrault, reported that the event set new records for viewership on TikTok, indicating growing popularity for BKB.
In the co-main event, Olympic gold medalist Yuriorkis Gamboa, at 44 years old, delivered a dominant performance, outpointing Yesner Talavera over five rounds.
Tyson Fury, the former Unified, WBC, and Lineal Heavyweight Boxing World Champion, was in attendance to support Trujillo. When questioned about potentially joining BKB, Fury expressed his openness, stating, "I'm a prize fighter. Show me the money."
